Are my female friends lying or do they really not masturbate?
Post Body

I really can't tell if I am the abnormal one.

There have been several situations with a few different groups of female friends over the years when after some drinks the conversation has turned to sex. Whenever the topic of masturbation comes up, the majority of women in the group will deny doing it.

  • Many will say that it just doesn't feel right/they don't like it/they felt silly, or that they did it once but it's not for them. (If that's true they must be doing it wrong!)

  • Many will also say, "but I have a boyfriend, I don't need to!"

  • Some have even said that they have never tried it.

  • Many will say that they don't feel the urge.

Now, I am a 28 year old female and I can't imagine not masturbating. I discovered it naturally when I was 13 (I barely knew what I was doing at the time, just that it felt good.) Now, I do it at least 3-4 times per week. If I go for more than 3 days without it, I start to get really horny, have sex dreams and start thinking naughty thoughts about every attractive person I see - until I release that tension. Even if I have a boyfriend and I am having regular sex, I still feel the urge to get myself off too.

Whenever I say this to other girls, they look at me like I am some kind of horny freak. However, I think most guys would consider masturbating 3-4 times per week quite natural.

So, I thought that since we are all anonymous here some other females could weigh in honestly. Is my libido just really abnormally high for a female, or do other women feel this way but just don't admit it in social settings?

Edit: Wow, this got way more responses than I thought it would. Thanks everyone! It's been reassuring to hear that there are other women out there with a similar libido to mine.

Also, thanks to those who have answered and explained how they just don't feel the urge. Everyone's libido is different I suppose and some don't crave it as much or even at all. There is no right or wrong, as long as you are happy. :)
