So I recently started talking to this girl I like and I am a 25 year old male, we’ve been hitting it off and have talked about meeting up, but she just mentioned to me she has hsv-2. I don’t have any std and I am perfectly healthy but I’m just wondering, should I cut it off right there? How likely would I be to get it if we had protected sex, should I not risk it? Or is it safe to do just as long as I’m careful?

Yes she takes medications for it, and I made sure I didn’t make her feel bad for having it, I just want to make sure if I do move forward with it that I also don’t contract something I’ll have for the rest of my life too, I just don’t know what I can’t do specifically like I can’t give her oral sex i assume neither can she to me? But if we kiss I’ll be fine? The web gives me confusing info because it mentions hsv-1 and hsv-2 simultaneously and what can and can’t happen
