I met an amazing person that I have good chemistry with and they revealed to me that they have HSV2. I never knowingly dated someone who had this STD. There isn't any preventative medicine someone can take for this STD nor can condoms grant you 100% protection.

However, someone with HSV2 can take medication to keep the HSV and outbreaks dormant though it will never be eliminated. Someone can be infected with HSV whether their partner has an outbreak or not and this can happen with skin outside of the genitalia area but the chance is low. I haven't met someone this good looking and charming in a while and I'm thinking about giving it a chance but I'm nervous.

I would love to know if anyone else has experienced this and what they decided to do. If you did date a person with HSV2 how long did you date and were you able to avoid transmission?
