My partner and I have good sex without orgasms, is he just being nice?

Post Body

I (41F) have been having sex with someone (36M) recently who occasionally just decides to quit while they’re ahead, shall we say.

He says he realizes he can take a long time sometimes, and knows I don’t always have the energy or stamina for it. So after awhile will pull out, give me a big kiss, and say something sweet. He always seems happy and genuine when I’m asking “Are you SURE?”

This isn’t every time. If I’m in the right mood I have a fairly short fuse before I get off. He always takes a little longer, but not too much. He says when he just knows it’s not in the cards, he enjoys the session but doesn’t want it to drag on because he knows it can be uncomfortable.

In my limited experience this is not very common. It’s considerate, but is this lip service or is he serious? Is he being nice, and I’m being disappointing in bed?
