F21 , I was recently diagnosed with genital herpes. I am confused on how I got them due to the fact that I’ve been sleeping with one partner for over a year now (June 2023). I was blood tested for herpes January 2024 and got a negative result, now July 2024 I’ve had an outbreak. I am curious if I got this from a previous partners (Last partner being April 2023) before my current one that I’ve had for a year and it had become dormant making the test in January negative possibly to having anitbodies go away? I’m just looking for an answer, im very lost and confused and would like to know if this could’ve happened to me. My current partner M21 says they have not had cold sores or herpes in the past. unless they are lying to me about being faithful or having cold sores in the past, which that could truly be it but I am just very confused
