Preparing 17yr sister going to university
Post Body

We grew up in a very sheltered conservative home. We weren’t given any sort of sex talk and was taken out of sex ed in elementary school. On top of that, we have an abusive father and no real positive male role model. This has obviously generated some pretty low self esteem and no understanding of what boundaries are and how to speak up for yourself and maintain them.

I’m 10 years older than my sister, and left for uni knowing nothing. My upbringing and naïveté led me to have really terrible experiences with guys in uni that still haunt me to this day.

My sisters upbringing was nearly identical to mine. I know she is walking into uni in a similar state. I want to do everything I can to equip her enough to have a better experience than me. I have no intention of preaching abstinence, but want to have an age appropriate conversation with her about what she should know. I’m worried about projecting, freaking her out or telling her things that may not be necessary at this stage.

I have some things written down about what to say, but feel like it’s too much. Helpppp. What do I saaayyy 😰😰😰
