Hi, I consider myself a beginner even though I have finished a few projects already.

So last week I ordered some fabric for a coat (without a specific pattern in mind). I got plenty of fabric. I was browsing which pattern I would like to do. I found McCalls 8156, but would like to modify it by adding a hood. Has anyone done it? Is there a hood (think little red riding hood) you can recommend?

Also, English is not my first language. What does "nap" on the bottom of the pattern here mean https://www.sewdirect.com/product/mccalls-m8156/
