Has anyone made an over the armrest type organizer for a recliner?

My dad just hurt himself and will be mostly immobile for awhile, so I thought I would try to make an armrest organizer for his hang out spot. It seems like the ones I have seen have a majority of the pockets and therefore weight on the outside and that it would just fall off onto the floor. Has anyone made one of these and used it successfully?
