Hello all! This is my first reddit post so please bear with me:
Long story short, with everything going on in the world, I really wanted to try my hand in sewing but also, as a poor college student, dropping $150-200 on a new sewing machine seems very out of reach for right now lol. But I realized that one day at Goodwill, I saw a sewing machine and decided to go in today to find some. Low and behold, I actually found three! A Singer Merit 8734, Creative Touch 1030 and another one with no title and no price. The one that caught my eye was the Creative Touch 1030 as it was $35 and it came with the power cord and foot control. It looks pretty ok for its condition but, due to my lack of knowledge in this department, I have no idea if it’s all that good! So here are my questions:
Is the Singer Creative Touch a good sewing machine to start off with? And if so, is there any online resources to figure out the manual controls on it?
I’ll be linking the images that I took of it, is it still a functioning machine and is it missing vital parts that I will need to replace?
Any other comments, tips and tricks would also be very helpful! Thank y’all in advance! :)
