I think too often we get caught up in our mistakes or mishaps and it's easy to get discouraged when we only think about how our work could improve. Don't get me wrong, it's important to work on self-improvement, but I think it's equally important to congratulate ourselves on skills mastered or just when a job is well done. So, just for a bit, let's ignore our wonky hems and stop reminding ourselves of that time we stitched the zipper in the wrong way. Let's talk about what's going well for us right now!
I'll start, I sewed six kickass buttonholes and they are all equally spaced and everything lays flat when buttoned! Hurrah!
That's so exciting! What final fabric did you decide on?
I'm sure you blow people's minds when they find out you made it! What was the best thing you learned??
Holy cow! I'm impressed. It took me years of seeing through patterns before I even attempted drafting my own.
I totally get that. What other patterns are you brainstorming now?
That's amazing! I honestly had never considered this was a thing. What a kickass skill to have.
You are awesome! There is nothing quite like finishing that first quilt. Cherish that feeling!

Whoa! These are incredible things to do well! Definitely skills I need to work on myself.
