I'm rather novice at sewing but I'm making my own patten from this child's shirt cuz I really like how it fits me. I started taking out the stitches to dismantle it and noticed the back of the collar has this this fortified bit. Not even sure how they did it yet until I take it apart.
Also there is a small strip of plastic the exact width of the two top seams on the shoulders. I've never seen this before. It's hard to see in the photo and the one I pulled out I tossed before I thought to take a photo. This plastic seam is in the 3rd photo and the 4th photo is a regular seam.
Are these things necessary to the pattern I'm making? If so where do I get the lil plastic strip?
Thank you for your help!
