I just got my first sewing machine for my birthday, and I can't wait to get started. I really like the idea of making quilts and blankets, but when I looked at the supplies, it all seems rather daunting.
I know I want to get a rotary cutter, a self-healing mat, and of course thread and fabric. But how how can I tell what's good and what's not? I mean, I don't want top of the line right now, but I want a rotary cutter that can easily last me a year or two, tread that won't break too easily, etc.
Maybe this is why I put off learning to sew for so long....
