How do I stop a butterfly cape from fraying?

I want to turn this fabric into fairy/butterfly wings for my kid. How should I finish the edges? Lining? Bias? I don't want it to be a crazy amount of work but I also don't want it falling apart on her. I will put elastic for arms on it to keep it up. Help?
