Hi Everyone,
First can I apologise in advance, because I'm a complete noob, hence why I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right subreddit. But I'm hopeful someone may be able to point me in the right direction.
Basically, I am a project analyst working on a large statewide initiatve to migrate all workstations from one local domain AD into a larger statewide domain. I do have a background in IT and some knowledge but my role predominately is around the comms/change management side of things.
However, I've become super interested in the process of it, and wanted to understand it better.
Essentially, what I'd like to do is create a test environment where I have 1-2 virtual machines and using a platform like Windows Server, muck around and learn about Active Directory/Group Policies/Permissions etc, in a safe test environment.
How would I go about doing this?
Again, apologies if this post/question makes no sense, I'm just looking for some help and advice.
