To me...those little things point to his guilt:
1-Krista Told Adnan that they found Haeās body
Adnanās response is very telling. He said āAll Asian girls look alike, it couldnāt be herā.
Why did his mind jump to the conclusion that they identified her based on her looks and NOT her IDs? Because he knew there were no IDs on her, he got rid of them.
2- I'm glad I talked to the coach
Based on the Ride/Along notes, Jay told the detectives that Adnan told him after picking him up from Track Practice on Jan 13 that he was glad he talked to the coach, so he established an alibi.
-Jay mentioned it to the detectives on March 18 before they interviewed the coach. At that point, no one knew about this except for Jay and Adnan.
-When the detectives interviewed the coachā¦he did say that it was the first and only time Adnan talked to him at length. Obviously...he was establishing an alibi.
-The coach also told them that the defense PI interviewed him to specifically ask him about the conversation he had with Adnan on Jan 13.
And it so happened that Adnan remembered that conversation of all things. He claimed not to remember anything else that day. But somehow he remembered this conversation and mentioned it to the defense PI. Because he was establishing an alibi.
3- Adnan was going thru Haeās wallet before tossing it. He showed Jay the prom picture that was in her wallet
This is so real. This could not be a story that Jay just made up.
4-After the murder, Jay told Stephanie to stay away from Adnan.
Thatās what Jay told the detectives. However, Jen said the same thing to the detectives. She told them Jay wanted Stephanie to stay away from Adnan. But he didnāt want to give her the reasonā¦he didnāt want to tell her that Adnan murdered Hae. Stephanie mentioned it to the detectives as well. She told them that Jay told her to stay away from Adnanā¦she added that there was a shady guy with 3 fake names. So it looks like Jay told her to stay away from Adnan because heās connected to a shady guy. Based on the 3 independent statements from Jay, Jen and Stephanie, it is a clear that after the murder Jay was concerned about Stephanie and wanted her to stay away from Adnan without mentioning Hae's murder.
5-Adnan told Stephanie he didnāt know Hae was missing
Stephanie told the detectives that she didnāt even know that Hae was missing until the end of the following week. Yet when she asked Adnan about it he claimed he didnāt know either. Well we all know the police called and inquired about Haeās whereabouts on the day she disappeared. Her brother also called him for the same reason. She was reported missingā¦thatās exactly why the police called him. Yet he lied to Stephanie pretending he had no idea she was missingā> consciousness of guilt.
6-Stephanie called Adnan to ask him why the police was interviewing Jay on Feb 28
His response is very telling. He directly assumed it was about him. Well, Jay was a drug dealer. Why not assume it was about Jayās drug activities?

adnan had told a close friend prior to the murder that the secluded part of the best buy parking lot was a place he and hae used to park to have sex. it makes a lot of sense that it would be a place that she would be willing to pull over to with him to talk or something else. the idea that jay would also know this, would remember it and would think of it to be the fake murder location is crazy.
adnan never called hae after she went missing. he called her very often in the weeks beforehand and his last call to her was around midnight-1 on the night before she went missing. her friends were calling her around the clock after she went missing to see where she was and if sheād answer. why did adnan never try even once?
(EDIT: I misspoke on this, meant to say that Yasser, Adnans friend from the mosque, initially told police that he thought Adnan was guilty and that his brother knew more information) the fact that the anonymous tip caller was someone from the mosque. i believe adnan had encouragement from some of his friends at the mosque or family members, who made him feel like what hae had done to him was very wrong, as jay put it. i think someone in this group felt guilt about it afterwards and tipped police off.
EDIT: additionally, the anon caller also said that the body was placed in Leakin Park because that was a place where Adnan and Hae used to have sex. Itās possible that this is true or that they were conflating the details about Best Buy and Leakin Park. But it would be a mighty coincidence if 2 separate parties said that location or location(s) of the murder corresponded with places that the couple used to go for sex.
good point actually. i wonder if she had a pager?
and not trying to call her a single time after she went missing, as all of her other friends were doing, despite calling nonstop up until that day. he knew why she wasnt going to pick up.

SORRY i misspoke. it was speculation from a few parties that the caller was from the mosque. the police said it was a young male with an accent, and jay seems to think it was someone from the mosque too (re: his interview w the intercept)
what i meant to refer to was the fact that Yasser, his best friend from the mosque, initially told detectives he thought that Adnan was guilty, and that Adnanās brother likely had more info too.
the takeaway though is the same that i think his mosque friends knew more and one of them likely tipped police off.
