Being prior service, I have always been fascinated with how many serial killers or heinous crimes took place at the hands of someone who once served.

Do you think there’s predisposition to this behavior like prior time in service/training?

Do you think that the training/time in service agitates this predisposition?

Or does training and time in service independently affect a person to have these behaviors?

Granted people who don’t serve commit these crimes as well, I just ponder on cause and effect of military service.

I guess these are kind of questions about Nature Vs Nurture .

I did read a lot about different guys that who were kicked out for bad behavior or the same deviant behavior that they would commit when they are later arrested. Jeffrey Dahmer or Rodney Alcala are just a couple examples.

At that point considering the military knew about these behaviors that they are in fact responsible for discharging these people into society ?
