Momentum 3 Wireless Noise Cancelling crackle

Hi, I recently got a new pair of Momentum 3 headphones. When I turn on the noise cancellation the left ear makes a sound akin to interference with a mobile phone, like an "electronic crackle" type noise.
Any ideas on how to fix it?
