My 18 year old beagle has a mass and i dont know if I should have her go under surgery or just let nature take its course.
Post Body

My beagle (white and tan one, left in the photo), started developing a growth on her abdomen in the lower area. I noticed it when bathing her. It started to grow and ooze rather quickly since I noticed it. She’s very old and fragile but her spirit is still there. She loves to bark at me over and over to go for walks. Recently, I noticed she doesn’t even want to go outside in the backyard but she would still be down for a walk around town on the leash. She still has her appetite and her eyes go big when there’s food around. She isn’t as responsive to being pet or cuddled anymore, she just naps a lot and she likes to be in the room with us. I dont know if she is too old for treatment. If paying to remove the growth would extend her life. Or if it’s her time to decline and then go. I mean at 18 she’s already past her life expectancy I think for beagles it’s 12-16 years. Should I put her through the stress of going to the vet and having surgery or should I wait until it’s time to say goodbye? I think she’s in her last year of life no matter how happy she seems. I can tell her spirit is there but her body is declining and she is getting more frail.
