too late to publish; will this idea work?
Post Body

This idea just came to me so sorry if it is somewhat half baked but...

We have our third book (but first self-published) at the editor, but she has a sudden issue and going to be delayed. Our timing was already tight; we have an event on 2/2 and on 2/9 that would be great opportunities to sell our book.

So - my thought was, I use a vanity press to publish our unedited book, plaster 'Pre-Release version' on the cover, explain they are getting a pre-release version and sell it cheap, AND also offer a discounted digital version once it is actually released. That gets me past the two events, gets a buzz going about the book.

Thoughts, feedback?
