Keeping a journal!

I got this little notebook from target for like 20 bucks and every day I write down what i do. Not in crazy detail, I just write a bullet list as i do things throughout the day. I also write what i eat to track my calories and I also track my goals daily. Right now its to get totally clean from drinking (it wasn't an issue i just didn't like where it was going) and to stick to my diet.

Then at the end of the day i write how i felt in general and grade my day overall and write down a to-do list for the next day! So tomorrow ill check off the stuff on my to-do list. It helps keep me productive and lets me track my moods over time!

Its super nice so far for helping me not procrastinate because the little dopamine hits from checking stuff off the list keeps me checking off more! Its also nice because i feel weird a lot of times that i cant remember what I did yesterday so im hoping that writing all of it down will help me improve my memory and pay more attention to life in general. The last year has felt like a blur to me and missing that time go by has really bothered me. Im not too far into doing this yet but I already look forward to checking off my list for tomorrow and im hoping this will let me pay more attention and smell the roses a bit more so this year is different.

No one has to try this with me but its going well for me so far and I thought I would share!
