"I'm helping you because you're a fighter... You're not a coward. You're a brave person going through a hard time... You got this."
It was the first time I met a person who was intuned with everything. The good and the bad, bringing it all down to the basics.
It's funny how words can have such an affect in the right moment. As painful my experience was in that moment I had clarity that I was already prepared for what I was facing. I just didn't accept it because I couldn't fully accept my circumstance.
Self improvement is about facing your shadows. They come wrapped in your muscle fibers and suffocate you when you're at your lowest. You tense up at the fact that you are like this and you have this lingering feeling that you should do something about it. But this feeling thought never comes into fruition unless you face your shadows. A pain that makes you respond to it. That's how it should be. Not shy away from it. Ignore it until it becomes even more painful.
People say just be honest. Life is too short to be wasting time working on yourself when it is you in the first place. First step is always the hardest. They be secretly telling me they don't want the pain. The bad. Just the good. Good enough until it isn't.
