According to the youtube video "The science of self control", by HealthyGamerGG , self-control is the same thing as awareness of internal conflicts. I'd like to be aware of internal conflicts, but I only manage to get frustrated, which leads me to procrastinate.
Some examples of the unsolvable internal conflicts:
- Being hopeful in a hopeless world. One is supposed to be hopeful about building something good, improving the world. But, the knowledge of the eventual heat death of the universe makes me feel hopeless about anything, because everything is meaningless and bound to be forgotten from that point of view.
-Love and freedom. I believe that we should give the utmost freedom to the people that we love, because obligation ruins everything. However, there's a lot of intrinsic obligations in relationships, even if one strives their best away from them.
-Seeking peace, but bound to never find it. I believe the points made in the youtube video "Why there is no Happily ever after", by The school of life ; We're bound to always find something to be anxious about. For the most part, I'm seeking self control in order to find that non-anxious state, to find peace. But it seems impossible.
There's many more conflicts like that. If you haven't guessed, I tend to be a person of extremes, and a perfectionist.
