I've successfully set up a Cloudron account on a Google Cloud server (which runs about $15-20/mo) and I'm cheerfully running my two free apps there. But I'd like to install another couple of apps, and I can't afford the additional amount for paid Cloudron, so I'd like to move away from it.
My website is with Nixihost, where I can add a suitable VPS for $10/mo. I've looked into Yunohost, but it requires Debian 11, and my VPS choices with Nixihost are CentOS 7, Debian 7, or Ubuntu 14.04. (I guess they really want you to choose CentOS.)
So I thought about Docker, which works on CentOS 7, but I know nothing about it. It shows up constantly in readings on self-hosting, but it seems like it's not the easy interface Cloudron provides. I like the idea of containers (vs Yunohost not using them), but can Docker be a point-and-click system like Cloudron?
What's my easiest way to move away from Cloudron? What I really want is just another app without the cost. Cloudron is perfect for me, is there something similar without the two-app limitation? My budget is up to about $20/mo preferably, including the server, since that's what I'm paying now for Google Cloud Cloudron. Thanks!
