Which remote access method is the best use case for a media server
Post Body

Hi,

Id like some advice on what method i should use to able to access my jellyfin server outside of my LAN. i'm not too much of a noob when it comes to computers since I work in IT but def a noob when it comes to networks(studying NET atm). My goal is to be able access my jellyfin server outside of my networm and create user accounts so i can have my friends and family access my server outside if mind. I tried looking online and it got reallly confusing with the response. Some said use tailgate vpn, but i tried it and didnt like it since it requires the users client have it installed and make an account on it. Some said use a reverse proxy(never done this before but looks interesting), some said do port forwarding on my router. What is the best option for me that is secure and provides less effort on the users client side? Also not that I host my server on wins 11(i'm not a linux fan im sorrrrryyy) and I have a spare thin client that i can install windows on if needed.
