Being a Mandatory Reporter Kinda Sucks

(Student teacher) I had to report a student for cutting. I worry about the student and what happened to them after I reported them for sh. I recognize that sh is not healthy, but for some it does help. Being sent to grippy sock can be mentally crippling for some, and I have friends who’ve had terrible experiences on psych wards. This student didn’t show up to class for the remainder of my time at that school.
