Just now realizing my self harm started before the cutting

Every time I fail to do something adequately or when Km really anxious I have a habit of digging my nails deep into my legs or arms. I always end up sabotaging myself so that I fail to meet deadlines and that only makes me feel more anxious which causes me to repeat that habit. Ive never really thought about it and now that I’ve been cutting for a few months I realize that Ive been harming myself in many different forms that were less obvious.
