I’ve had my fair share of self harm experience in the past, though it never got to an extreme point. My best friend however was not as lucky, it has taken so much from them. They’ve cut arteries, veins, developed nerve damage. They’ve went to the hospital once for staples, and they sent them into a mental institution without consent due to the baker act her in Florida. The were mistreated and dehumanized while there, staff often forgetting their dinner and being incredibly misleading with how much they were charging and what medications they were putting them on. It was a traumatizing experience and I know they will not go to the hospital anymore, even if they give themselves an extremely dangerous injury. I know they want to stop, or at least want to want to. I feel so helpless, I’m terrified of them dying. If anyone has advice on how to help support them, please let me know.
