I'm putting my 17 year old cat down today and i'm not ready. Anyone have any advice?
Post Body

I've had Ballerina Kitty since i was 3 years old and she's been my best friend. Yesterday i found out that she's not eating and all she does is hide and sleep (she lives with my parents 20 min away because she was too old to move in with me when i left home), which we think is her way of saying goodbye because animals usually look for a secluded place to die. Has anyone had any experience with this? I'm in shambles. Any advice is appreciated.

EDIT: I'm definitely going to be there for her and hold her as long as i can. Thanks for the advice and the assurance that's it's ok to cry a whole bunch and barricade myself in my apartment. Does anyone know about how much it costs to have her cremated?
