Taking a 4 day a week Japanese class at a community college. The teacher refuses to answer questions that have already been answered on the syllabus, as well as no forewarning about tests or assignments due (because they are on the syllabus), as well as giving us under 24 hours with material before we are tested on it. It wouldn't really bother me if she wasn't taking liberties of her own.
The class is scheduled from 8:00 am to 9:15 monday-thursday. She will regularly end class at 8:45 because she has to drive across town to teach at a different school which class starts at 9:30. She canceled class last Thursday with no explained reasoning, and she introduced 45 new vocabulary words (we had them in the book, but they had never been mentioned in class, or their proper context explained) and new grammar today, that we will be tested on tomorrow. It really feels like it was supposed to be introduced on Thursday so we will have the whole weekend to study.
My comprehension of Japanese is growing very quickly and I am happy with were I am at personally, but I am probably going to fail this class because of these issues, forcing me to retake it before I am able to move on, thus slowing down my personal progression. I am very much contemplating a formal complaint with the dean at this point, but would like some outside input on it if anyone has an opinion. I hold some responsibility for my short comings in this class, but I have never had a teacher of this style before.
