And not for the reasons you think. I voted Kamala and Democrat across the board. At first I was disappointed but not surprised. But I've come to realize that the next four years are a blessing in disguise. The Republicans have finally done it. They've gained majority control of both houses of Congress, they have a majority in the Supreme Court, and they have Trump as president.
They have assumed control, and they are going to do everything they can to make the rich richer, the poor poorer, minorities more oppressed, etc. That's the bad news, but here's the good news; all those non-rich Trump voters that voted for him for "economic reasons?" They're gonna be absolutely screwed. Their lives are about to get much worse.
And I look forward to it. I can't wait for the new year to get under way so I can read stories that go along the lines of, "I knew Trump was going to screw people over, but I didn't think he'd screw ME over!" It'll be great. Not just their suffering, but the fact that all of us who voted against Trump can lord it over them. What's also great is that even after for years of a Republican controlled government, they'll still blame Democrats. Or liberals, or the left. It'll be clear as day who's to blame for their misfortune, but they'll still be like, "the big mean liberals called me a fascist so clearly THEY'RE at fault!"
Yeah the rest of us will suffer too but fuck it, that's life. At least some of the Trump voters will go down with us. So don't despair. "Always look on the bright side of life.
