Why do some people become social butterflies when under the influence?

I think of myself as an ambivert when it comes to talking with people. It’s either I vibe with you or I don’t. On one hand I’ll be cold, and on the other I’m myself in a sense. Now when it comes to drinking in my experience, I become a social butterfly and makes friends with everyone. I no longer have that dreading feeling of “I don’t know anyone at this party,” or “will I even talk to anyone?” All of my inhibitions are lowered/gone and I can be myself without the thought of being judged or in the wrong. I can be myself and have a great time.
