During a recent conversation, I found myself bewildered as the topic inexplicably shifted to someone professing their admiration for Putin (which is weird enough).
Then They rambled on about his leadership and how one must be cautious around Russians or Chinese due to their governments. I was utterly taken aback because, frankly, I couldn’t care less about such notions. I expressed my belief that a person's origin—be it China, Russia, North Korea, or anywhere else—shouldn’t matter; I treat everyone the same and imagine that most of Gen Z does as well. Yet, the person insisted that one must behave differently upon learning someone is from Russia, implying they might have some hidden agenda.
He went on to describe how he's seen videos of Gen Z YouTubers going to Russia or China to pick up girls, claiming they had to behave differently compared to America, which he labeled a "lawless place" where men supposedly don't care what happens to women.
Despite his assertions, I remained flabbergasted and unconvinced. I still firmly believe that the average Gen Z individual, who isn’t engaged in creating slop content for YouTube, won’t care much about where someone is from.
