Adopted a cat from an amazing shelter, thought I'd share...
Post Body

Nicholas Nickelby is my newest and only cat. He's a fixed orange tabby, and is an absolute doll. Now - the shelter - Entering, it was like Ron Weasley's house - warm & inviting. I asked about volunteering, and they took me to the cat floor to get an idea of the place. FREE RANGE HAPPY CATS! A great room in a Victorian-type house with all kinds of cat furniture, a line of lidded (privacy) litter boxes, and no smell whatsoever. So clean. I'm definitely volunteering. I met quite a few cats, who were all extremely well-adjusted, and instantly could tell each one's personality. This shelter's model is pretty fantastic. The lady told me that there were 75 cats in that room (most of the 2nd floor), and I couldn't tell. I couldn't leave without this one boy, who isn't a cuddle-bunny, but sits next to you. He's great. I was interviewed, and filled out paperwork for more than 45 min., and never felt 'interviewed'. We talked about cats I'd had and how my house is. This place is great, and I'd like to volunteer, while also trying to document the operations. That is all. Nicholas' farts will rip your nose off. :)
