2
way to separate the downloader to a remote machine
Post Body

I have been using a setup of usenet(main) and torrents(backup). As we all know usenet lacks availability a lot esp. older content (which I'm mainly into...). So I'm now looking to go all in on torrents. But:

  • not use a proper seedbox (to keep costs low). i mean a good one to stream plex (expensive).
  • not do torrenting on the local box. (takes a portion of internet bandwidth)

So I'm looking for the ideal low cost solution of using a cheap (~100G storage) VPS to host my download client. And then transfer and delete when ratio is done*. Is this possible with say RuTorrent? Or it's as simple as replacing "localhost" with the remote host in sonarr config?

* Around maybe 1.5up and do some race-seeding to build buffer with small torrents...
