I asked a girl for her number
Post Body

And it went pretty bad.

Some Backstory: Last week was a party on campus. At the end I spoke to her and we had a fun conversation, but she had to leave and didn't want to go to the next party location with us. We wanted to meet at the next board game evening at the University, so I didn't ask for her number that night. At the next day I regretted my drunken logic, because who knows if she comes to the next event of my faculty. She doesn't even know what I study, so she could go to the wrong board game evening.

So today I surprisingly met her in the bus. She didn't see me, but I knew she will get out the same station as me and so I kinda tried to prepare what to say and ask. We both got off the bus, I said hello and spoke for like 1 minute, because she wanted to meet with a friend for lunch. So in the last seconds I asked for her number. And as I said, it was awful. I stumbled over my own words and was just very nervous.

Well, she didn't want to give me her number, but said:" You can give me yours and I decide if I want to text you." In my experience girls rarely text first and this is kinda a 'not interested'.

That in itself isn't that bad, but I will probably see her again and I know I can do better. Should I try again? Should I ignore that she didn't text me when I'm talking to her? Or should I just move on?

Thanks for your help guys!

Edit: She texted me, I can't believe it
