Broke out of my cocoon and started talking

Post Body

I finally broke my comfort zone and had 3 cold approaches last night.

I engineered my problem into "the approach" & "the conversation". And gave myself a target to get stated on the approach aspect.

I used a method I read here a few days back of either initiate a conversation or shout "I'm a loser". Ended up initiating conversation with a group of 2 with the classic "Can I get a drink" by the counters. Surprisingly she told yes, got her one and got invited to dance. The floor was too loud and I didn't know how to continue talking for long. After dancing a while, I ended it and moved on as my initiation target is done.

But night's still young, and next one was a group of 4 girls, was told she wasn't interested. I moved on to another club.

Next, I saw a lady sitting alone by herself, started with are you taking a break from dancing, and held a decent convo, but again I was leading to dead ends. So gave a good bye and ended it.

So Tips for those starting out:

  1. Confidence works like many pointed in the group. But you have to break your comfort zone and start initiation.
  2. Try to break the whole process into smaller goals. And in parts which works for your.
  3. Know to stick to one objective and progressively develop.

But, my fellow redditors I'd like some advice on how to hold convo next organically. Being a very techie guy most of my talks end up logically structured and often gets me to a dead end.
Any advice on how to convert initiation to conversation which leads to a fun night would be helpful.
