Security Guard Liability

Post Body

Working in the Seattle (Washington) area many security guards have assisted with individuals overdosing on Fentanyl. Consequently many security guards have applied Narcan to these individuals in a lifesaving attempt. These attempts are prior to Police, Fire or Ambulance arrival.

The Narcan has been issued by the security company or by the site (Shelters)

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnโ€™t.

Here are are a few question that I have: (1) Does the individual security guard possess any type of personal liability for doing this (2) Does the security company possess any liability (3) Does it matter if the Narcan was applied on site or offsite (across the street)

Have any security guards been involved in using Narcan and have had positive or negative consequences.

Thanks in advance for any responses.
