Disappointed in the way the west views buddhism
Post Body

I’ve recently started following secular Buddhism and whenever I tell my friends I often get confused looks / laughs. I drink and eat meat and don’t believe in karma or reincarnation (in the traditional sense) and my friends point out how that doesn’t make me a “real”Buddhist. Does anyone else here find it frustrating to explain their beliefs to people in their lives who entire concept of religion is based around Christianity, Islam, and judaism??

Sorry if this was a bit rambly just needed to vent lol
