With the amount of people who desperately desire money they do whatever it takes to get it doesn't matter who gets hurt.
Often that means the few moral jobs there are will pay a small amount.
If people want to enjoy life how is Buddha's advice suppose to be palatable when you should seek out a holy job in a unholy society?
There's also people who have say worked in the underground, come across Buddha's teachings but then realize they can't tell the truth of their work experience to these "holy job employers" because then they'll go to jail possibly.
There are programs for people who got caught but not everyone has.
An lastly your coworkers, customers, whoever who you deal with 5 days a week if not more they themselves put you at risk of dragging you down to less noble levels.
It doesn't sound realistic to me to promote high levels of soldier self control.
At best I understand why some live in monasteries away from the "mass unholyness" however the idea of returning to society feels like a huge risk when it comes to reversing the brain habits the person created an possibly even making them leave nirvana.
