I've matched with someone in another country (yay!!!!! So excited!)

I thought I picked out some great gifts, but now that I'm reading the list of prohibited items, I'm worried that what I was thinking of sending, may be confiscated at the border?! Has anyone ever sent gifts to Turkey? The stuff I'm apparently not allowed to send is very strange, but includes "personal effects" and "textiles", playing cards... I assume personal effects are belongings, so, maybe I'm safe there, but, textiles? How strict is the rule on not sending fabrics, clay etc? If a gift includes fabric, is it prohibited? There are so many more things, I feel overwhelmed. I honestly thought I'd pick out some lovely home decor and send it on it's merry way! Now I'm wondering if my giftee or I are going to get in trouble if I don't choose a proper or appropriate gift that isn't on the "list" of acceptable items being sent to their country... any help would be appreciated
