I had a super positive Secret Santa experience last year, my first year. Secret Santa really had such a positive impact on my life. My gift post was in the top 10 most liked gifts of last year, and reddit has used my post in promotional e-mails since. My Santa and I have become really close friends and that has really been the best part of this whole experience. I'm not trying to boast, I have so much appreciation for everyone's generosity no matter how big or small. I know how fortunate I was last year and want to pay it forward. I have participated in other exchanges, mainly as a re-match Santa, but none of them pale in comparison to Secret Santa, I have been looking forward to this all year!! I have really come to like giving because of how generous my Santa was to me.
