do most gifters include a personal note to their giftee, or not?
Post Body

do you expect one? want one? don't care? do you like writing a note to your giftee?
i'd love to hear everyone's thoughts - from any exchange!
i have done 7 exchanges, and about 75% of them haven't had any notes from the gifter to me - nothing whatsoever. i join these and love the spirit of reddit gifts because i love the personal touches - it's not just about the exchanged items, but about getting to know someone for a moment from another place. in the gifts gallery it seems like the vast majority of people get great notes from their gifter, like a personal hello or a card sharing why they chose the gift or how it relates to their life. i'm wondering what the norm is and what you expect when you join an exchange?
