PADI or UTD?

PADI or UTD?

Hello, I am trying to get into scuba diving and I have two options. One is a PADI shop that is at least 2 hours from where I live. I heard they are biggest agency in the world so they must be good. Second is a UTD Instructor who lives close to me and teaches independent. I get a vibe that his training would be very different from the PADI experience but I am not sure what that would mean.

Can someone give me an independent assessment of how PADI would be different from UTD and which should I choose? Thanks.
