I was wondering if anyone had any creative and cheap solutions for putting pockets on a BP/W rig. I can't currently afford a drysuit, so that's out. I don't need to carry much - just an SMB, a finger reel, possibly tables and spare slates, and, of course, any miscellaneous crap that I happen to recover during a dive... basically, I need one or two drysuit pockets worth of space attached to my rig. I can't sew or glue anything to the wetsuit, since it's possible I'll be using a rental wetsuit for warm water diving.
Someone once mentioned getting collapsible mesh pockets from an army surplus store, and this seemed like a good idea. I could rig them up kind of like stage bottles to keep them from dangling too much.
I'm a PhD student, so cheap is good, and I'm starting my AAUS Scientific Diver course in a little under two weeks, so I just barely have time to get something shipped to me in time to get some practice dives in before I head off for the course.
