My wife and I are avid divers. She is a recreational diver and I am a tech deep gas/mix and cave diver. She has no interest in deep or caves. We sport dive together and travel a lot to dive. The problem we have is finding her a reliable partner who is safe to dive with while I am tech diving. She has had a couple bad experiences on boats where she got paired with people that were unsafe. One time, here buddy vanished while my wife was taking a picture, this was discussed prior but the guy she was diving with just left her. Another time her buddy ran out of air on a wreck and had to use my wife’s octopus, she was unpleased. She has often just not gone on the boat and stays on shore if she doesn’t have a known dive buddy and I feel bad for tech diving. We are South Florida based but travel extensively.
