I'm trying to plan a diving-centred trip to the Maldives as it is a bucket list thing for my Mum.
For some context, she got her OW sometime in the 90s and hasn't dived since '95. As such, she will be requalifying locally (SE Asia) in September, and likely will not dive a whole lot before Maldives
Given her experience level, mediocre fitness, and age (57), I am not keen on her diving any sites which are too challenging / advanced (I'm primarily concerned about currents necessitating negative entrh / reef hooks in Maldives). I am AOW and will be diving with her but she will be OW.
Any recs for nice, easy diving in the Maldives? Budget (including dives) is around USD 1,000 per person per day for 5-6 days. I'm open to local islands / resorts, although I realise that USD 1,000 will price is out of some of the fancier resorts.
Thanks in advance!
