Need some tips on learning growling
Post Body

Hey! I’m a male bass singer and I want to learn to growl, I’m mainly inspired by the style of Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth) and Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God). I sing a lot so I’m a bit scared of learning it, because of the risk of hurting my voice. Do you have any tips for exercises and how to learn it by myself? I’ve started to try a little bit, but I’m not really sure how to get resonance and tone in my growls, but also pitch changes (I’m in the low range all the time and I don’t know how to get those screeching growls). I’m also not really sure how to know if I’m hurting my voice or if I’m doing it right. Tips would be appreciated!
