Surgery after 40?

Post Body

Has anyone had surgery after 40? I'm 39 and am just no getting to the point where my scoliosis is impacting my mobility, my curvature is pretty bad (backward S) but most of the pain is in my left foot and my leg. I have a lot of pain in my middle toes, occasionally they go numb. I think the pain in my leg is more muscle related from having my foot tensed up. I was supposed to wear a back brace as a kid but had a growth spurt right after getting it, which made the brace not fit and essentially it was "too late". I always said I wouldn't consider surgery until my son was able to "help himself" a bit more, and last week he started pouring his own cereal in the morning.
