hi! I was just offered a job as office manager at a dental practice. the pay benefits are good, and under normal circumstances I would accept it without reservations. (I really need a liveable wage!) however, I was told in the interview (with the "managing executive" who is the owner of the practice and wife of the dentist) that they use Hubbard Management Technology in the daily running of the office. she also had me take 3 tests in the interview (iq, personality, and a short timed logic test) which apparently i must've done well on. finally, she mentioned a class on communication she wanted me to eventually take, which i now realize is a scientology course.
I looked both the woman I interviewed with and her husband up on Truth About Scientology, and they're both long-term, OT VIII scientologists. They give all new patients at the practice a copy of "The Way to Happiness", even. That aside, they seem like lovely, normal people in every other way. Do you think it's possible for me to take this job, avoid giving my time/money to their cult, and just run a dental office 9-5 and cash my paychecks like a normal person? Are scientologists generally aggressive if I make clear that I'm uninterested in joining? Should I run screaming in the other direction?
Thanks for any advice you can provide!
