Context: I moved into a new house (renting) and I know the people that lived here for 3 years before me. I immediately was receiving copious amounts mail from the Church of Scientology (COS) for this man. The people that I knew who lived here before, said that they had received some mail, but nobody had ever showed up to the door. About five days after moving in a man walks up onto my lawn and asked for this man by name. I was very familiar with the tactics of Scientology from having watched that Leah Remini docuseries on them and I read the book Going Clear. When I told him that the man did not live at this address, he laughed, and “So he DOESN’T live here?” It was such a weird reaction. I again stated that he doesn’t live here and to tell the COS to stop sending mail here.

Well, it’s been 4 months and they’ve been outside of my house several times. Then 3 days ago I saw the same man. Who walked up my lawn. I was going to drive away and i recognized him and he was walking a really old dog up my street, but from the end of the street that is a dead end. I then called my boyfriend on the phone and told him to come outside, and look so he could see the guy that I had mentioned before. Then the guy is just standing there with this dog, just smiling at me and looking at my boyfriend.

I know my boyfriend at first thought I was over reacting a bit. But then yesterday 2 Scientologists showed up to my door, and when my boyfriend walked outside, they greeted him by the name of the guy that they’ve been looking for. My boyfriend immediately said that isn’t his name and I told them I already told you guys he doesn’t live here stop coming back.

Cut to today…. I’m setting up Christmas decorations in my house, and my door is open and there’s a screen door. I hear a knock at the door, and I can see that it’s 2 Scientologists standing in blue suits, kind of trying to look like FBI agents? I immediately grab my phone and walked to the door and I’m filming them the entire time and said I already told you guys he doesn’t live here and to stop coming back here. Do I look like someone that’s harboring whoever this dude is?! They then proceeded to get into a really nice Mercedes SUV. And I’m yelling at them and all of my neighbors are starting to look and are asking me if they are r he FBI? They thought that they were the FBI because they saw them sitting in their car, in suits, looking at my house and then saw them walk up. They didn’t realize my street was a dead end, so then they had to drive all the way past us, and I’m still videotaping them.

Has anyone experienced this? I’m not really sure what the police would do. I have the license plates of both of the cars. But I don’t really think that reporting the COS would do anything. I’m hoping they don’t come back- but I have to say they seem unbelievably ill informed, and not doing anything based off of logic or rationality. I have no idea when this guy ever lived here, or if he ever did. But it hasn’t been within the last three years. And I don’t understand why they are going after him now at this address. Also, I have googled this man and I can tell that it seems like they have done some sort of a smear campaign against him and his wife. And this guy used to be in Scientology years ago and has defected. There are all of these weird websites that are talking about him and his wife being sent somewhere for getting in trouble with Scientology, and I can’t understand why that would be on the Internet anyways? And there’s also stuff about his business going into bankruptcy. And he must be at least 20 years older than my bf.
